A new workflow has been developed for modelling reservoir successions that comprise fluvial meander-belt deposits, based on algorithms employ multi-point statistics (MPS). library of training images – from which MPS can borrow geological patterns meandering systems built. The incorporate sedimentary architectures relating to point-bar deposits accumulated by meander-bend expansion and translation, as observed in high-sinuosity river their preserved the record. training-image using a forward stratigraphic software (PB-SAND) simulates evolution resulting facies organization, constrained sedimentological data analogues. are applied two widely employed algorithms: SNESIM DEESSE. Solutions common issues encountered workflows have established through optimization settings Auxiliary variables used simulate trends. Application DEESSE tested; sensitivity unconditional simulation results input parameters analysed define recipes, consisting sets appropriate use with each image algorithm. creation models geologically realistic remains challenging, but proposed approach holds promise.
